2015 Key Milestones

Annual Convenings

  • Designed and developed It’s Time 2015 the first national convening of cross-sector, grassroots leadership serving the advancement of women and girls
  • Hosted a congressional reception in Washington DC to celebrate congressional leadership dedication to the empowerment of women and girls, featuring Leader Pelosi as our keynote, and including Tim Ryan, etc.  
  • Assessed feasibility and began planning for It’s Time 2016 and 2017, our national summit
  • Built partner relationships with 50+ leading women’s organizations and 8 major convening partners

National Network

  • Produced the first ITN Mayor’s Roundtable event in San Francisco, gathering mayors and 130 civil society leaders to share best practices and identify solutions for mayors to implement
  • Developed a first ever Report to US Mayors on Gender Equality, based on findings from the roundtable, featuring solutions, best practices, resource guides and a checklist for mayors. (Stay tuned for publication details in early 2016)
  • Developed the formal structure and operating documents for our Network City Program, to launch in 2016 in San Francisco

Business Model

  • Continued research on legal and business structures for this collectively owned social enterprise
  • Worked with VERIS Wealth Partners to identify a Gender Lens Investment screen for initial investments into the enterprise, including Program Related Investments
  • Spoke on panel and lead breakout group at leading Gender Lens Investing event in Colorado
  • Engaged in strategic planning for implementation of the model in 2016

Network City Program Details 2016

With your support, we can fully fund the launch of the Network City program in 2016.  Below are some details about the activities your contribution can help fund:

  • ITN administrative staff time to manage program development
  • Hire a Network City Program Director to manage the development of the local chapter
  • Development of a formal web presence for San Francisco as a Network City
  • Map the San Francisco networks of networks and initialize the online platform
  • Commission a Baseline Report and Scorecard for Women and Girls in San Francisco to identify areas of strength and weakness in women and girl friendly policies at the local level
  • Support collaboration of local organizations in developing a collective action plan the city
  • Plan for the It’s Time 2017 summit
