It’s Time 2015: The Partnership Summit to Elevate Women’s Leadership was developed as our inaugural summit focused on fostering a new wave of cross-sector leadership among women and men, public and private entities, citizens and their governments.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and our Host Committee planned to welcome us to Baltimore on the weekend of May 1-3, 2015, when leaders and engaged citizens from across the globe were to come together to learn from one another and discuss how to redefine how we work together for the good of all in the 21st century.
The event program, which you can download by clicking through below, provides additional background about the event, and who was involved.
As we moved closer to the date of the It's Time 2015 Summit, tensions in Baltimore were high as a result of the tragic death of Freddie Gray. The Governor of Maryland declared a State of Emergency and brought in the National Guard to support the Baltimore police, and we became aware of planned protests that would have been in close proximity to the Summit and our guest hotels. After careful consideration for the safety and well-bing of everyone planning to attend, the It’s Time Network team determined that we would have to cancel the Summit for 2015.
