Equal pay for women has never been more popular than it is today. Yet, nearly 55 years after the passage of the Equal Pay Act and nearly a decade after the passage of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, never has achieving actual pay equity seemed more out of reach. Equal Pay Today! -- an innovative collaboration of women’s and workers’ rights organizations working at the state, regional, and national level -- is seeking to make equal pay for women a reality by building a groundswell of state and local wins over the next two years that will build toward federal wins that women and families can feel. On Wednesday, May 24 at 12:30 - 2:00 pm, strategic philanthropists are invited to a briefing and conversation with two of Equal Pay Today!'s New York State leaders -- Lenora Lapidus, Director of the ACLU's Women's Rights Project and Dina Bakst, Executive Director of A Better Balance -- on legal and policy strategies for closing the gender wage gap and ensuring women's economic security in the United States. A light lunch will be served.
Please RSVP by May 19th to firstname.lastname@example.org and to receive the location.
