Special Announcement for May 1-3 Baltimore Summit
Tuesday, April 28, 2015
As you know, the current situation in Baltimore remains volatile. Our hearts break open as we witness what is unfolding in a community that has already suffered so much pain.
After careful consideration for the safety and well-being of everyone planning to attend It’s Time 2015 on May 1-3, we have determined that the summit in Baltimore must be cancelled.
Given that the Governor of Maryland has declared a State of Emergency and has brought in the National Guard to support the Baltimore police, and given that there are planned protests that will be in close proximity to the Convention Center and our guest hotels, we really have no choice but to cancel the summit at this time.
Related summit events such as many Partner City gatherings and the private Congressional Reception on April 30th will proceed as planned. Please continue to check itstime2015.com for further updates.
As we move through this process, we are considering how to be of greatest service to the Baltimore community. As this plan develops, we will be reaching out to you with opportunities to support the need for the very systemic changes that are being brought to light by the events in Baltimore. We have been heartened to receive tremendous support from many of you throughout this process.
We understand that this decision may have consequences for you financially and we will be in touch with all attendees in the coming days to provide information about financial reconciliation issues. You may use this letter for reimbursement with the airlines.
We look forward to building upon the incredible energy and momentum that is growing among the members of this network.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
